About Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda is one of the most biologically diverse areas on Earth and home to roughly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. The park's dense, ancient forest covers 331 square kilometres of steep mountain terrain.

A gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi is widely regarded as one of the most profound wildlife encounters on the planet. Small groups of 8 trekkers spend one magical hour in the presence of a habituated gorilla family, observing silverbacks, playful juveniles, and caring mothers at close range.

Beyond gorillas, Bwindi harbours 120 mammal species, 348 bird species, and over 220 butterfly species.
